House Season 4 Finale Pt 1- House's Head
First, off I've noticed that I enjoy the episodes more if I don't watch with any shippy expectations...seriously... I think I'll just have to reserve that for fanfic...

I have to say that I was surprisingly amazed by the first part of the season finale...and it's been a while since that's happened...

Those finale 10 minutes were absolutely awesome...

Whatever It Takes - Chapter 9/?
Author: jlneveloff

Title: Whatever It Takes

Chapter:9/?

Word Count: 3054

Rating: PG-13 - may change later

Categories: Romance, Drama, Angst

Spoilers: Season One: Honeymoon…

Summary: “Do you like monster trucks?” That was how it all started. A ’what if’ story that looks into how things might have been if there was a relationship between House and Cameron during the course of the show. More detailed summary inside chapter one…

Disclaimer: Don’t own… David Shore FOX, and NBC Universal and any other company involved do.

Author's Note:I am so so so sorry about the lack of updates lately. Asides from the fact that my muse ran away, I have recently been going through an extreme case of JDOCD… There’s no cure and it usually flares up about the time a new movie is released that stars Johnny Depp (in this case it was Sweeney Todd followed by the Public Enemies filming)… and I’m hopeless for months….I think I’m just getting over it…

But, even though I haven’t posted anything since well…January, I want you to know that I didn’t not write anything for this story. I actually wrote a lot of scenes for future chapters and I also spent a lot of time wrestling with a decision that would effect the rest of the story. Whichever decision I came up with would determine how certain events happen and I didn’t want to pick lightly. Well, I’ve finally decided which to use so that helped. :D

I spent all the time wrestling with the future decision because this chapter was killing me! I had a plan for it all written out…but it still refused to work with me. So, as a result, I’m not overly fond of how this came out, but hopefully, that’s just because I’m my own worst critic :D

I’m attempting to whiz through this episode because the majority of it doesn’t change from the actual episode.

Hopefully, my characterizations are still there. It’s been a while since I’ve written anything that wasn‘t art history research based…

Major thanks to [info]naika7 for beta-ing this… :D and my sister [info]slwmtiondaylite for helping with the storyline of the story. :D

On with the story….

Buffy & Angel: The Sacrifices
As requested from a friend, I put together a video of the characters that died during the course of both Buffy and Angel.

There is no particular order in which they appear, but I did bracket the video with the two major vampires: Angel and Spike. There are no over-reaching ship throughout this, though I think it's apparent which is my preference.

I feel that some sections came out better than others; my personal favorite sections are Fred's and Spike's. I'm not overly fond of a few other sections, most notably the Angel section. I just couldn't feel it, probably because I'm not a huge Angel fan and I'm definitely not a Buffy/Angel shipper. I wasn't originally going to put it in, but my friend requested (as he's a huge Buffy/Angel shipper) so I aquiesced. I think my major problem with it is that Angel's death isn't like the others, so it felt out of place to me. He was the reason why he had to be killed; he caused the beginning of the apocalypse. The others either died because of natural causes (or murder) or they sacrificed themselves to save others.

But, that's just my opinion, and wasn't my friend who requested it. :)

If anyone wants the download link, let me know and I'll upload it. :)

So...here I am watching X-Files: Fight the Future...

I just watched the first X-Files movie...and...have come to the realization that it is incredibly painful to watch if you are from the Dallas/Ft.Worth area....

I mean, did they even send someone out here to even see what North Texas looked like?

Seriously... we do have grass...lots of green grass... not just dirt.  We get rain.  The movie takes place in Dallas but it looks like West Texas...or more accurately, the faaar west of Texas...like El Paso or something...   I saw tumbleweeds in the movie, classic sign of west Texas, not north Texas.... The area around Dallas actually has...shocker, forests.

They must've only sent scouts out as far as El Paso, took a look around and then decide that the rest of the state looked just like that...which is funny because when the actual show took place in North/Central Texas (Bad Blood, Musings of a C.S.M., etc) it actually looked more like Texas than the movie...

Oh, and we don't all talk like a bunch of country hicks (some of us, yes, but not all)...that irritates me moreso than the inaccurate location... Talk about stereotyping.

But, um, yeah...that said, I really do like the first movie.  I hope the second one is awesome as well :D  Can't wait..

And on a completely off-topic thing...I have actually started writing my House fanfic 'Whatever It Takes' again... hope to get the chapter done in a couple days or so.  *cross fingers*

April 12th: the most bizarre and surreal day ever....
So, yesterday my sister and I went with the Art History society on a little 'field trip' up to Amarillo, Texas. It was me, my sister, our faculty advisor/professor and four others...

And....what started as a pretty normal trip quickly turned into something that was just...weird....

sick and randomness
I think I'm getting the flu... :(   I haven't been sick over a year and now, during the busiest time in the semester, I get sick...

Now.... for a bit of randomness, Johnny Depp recently directed his longtime partner Vanessa Paradis' latest music video from her award winning album DivinIdyll.  It's called L'incendie (The Fire).  I think there's even a Johnny cameo in this one.  The guy in the shadows with the hat looks to have his physique.

Anyways... it's a beautiful video.  Very sleek with gorgeous art direction.  Johnny's directing skills aren't too shabby either :D  I think it's his best directorial work.  I've never heard on of Vanessa's songs all the way through before this.  I like it.

Whatever It Takes - Status Update
It's been a while since I've updated this story... I think the last time was the beginning of January.  I wanted to post this to let anyone reading it (if anyone still is) that I have NOT given up on this.

I've been suffering a bout of major writer's block, coupled with an extreme case of JDOCD (Johnny Depp Obsession Compulsive Disorder, seriously I've watched nothing but Johnny for almost 3 full months...Never had it this bad), and art history research papers that I need to work on (you'd be surprised how difficult it is to find good information on Renaissance artist, Raphael).  And I really need to study my Latin some more...

That's not to say that I haven't even looked at it. I have...during my free time, when I have it. I've thought about the plot, even planned future chapters out (for future 'seasons')... I've even written a couple of future scenes, trying to break free of this writer's block, but it still remains.

Anyways...I wanted to post this for those of you who may be wondering where Chapter 9 is... I'm working on it...and eventually I'll be done with it.

Johnny Depp Top 10 Performances #1
And now we have finally reached Number 1 in my countdown in my choices for Johnny Depp's best performances. It's quite long as I wanted to do this one justice, even though in the end I didn't talk about everything I could have.

It's also not posted here because LiveJournal was not cooperating with me... so with the help of my sister [info]slwmtiondaylite , I posted it online on our web server. It also includes a list of our favorite characters, which differ from this list. :-)

This was fun to write out, though I don't think I will do this again any time soon. :-)

So, now here is the link to my choice of Johnny's best performance. (follow the fake cut)

Johnny Depp Top 10 Performances #3 - an addendum

I just found this video on youtube.  It's a composition of two videos.  The first one is Stephen Sondheim teaching a class on how to sing My Friends from 1984 and added in are clip of Johnny singing it as well.  It shows how Johnny actually does what Sondheim wanted.

As I deliberate my Top 3 choices (because really, they could all be #1 for their own reasons), I’ve decided to add two performances that should have been on the list from the beginning. I have to admit that I forgot about them until I was looking at my DVD collection and then saw them. I feel bad about leaving them off…although I don’t know where I would place them in the Top 10 and who I’d knock off…. So I decided to do an honorable mention post as these two performances really deserve to be mentioned.

Johnny Depp Top 10 Performances (#10 through #6)
So...why am I making this list?  Mostly boredom.... and because I can :-D

Johnny Depp is one of – if not the most – versatile actors working today and has been hailed as the greatest actor of his generation by the actor who is considered to be the best who ever lived – Marlon Brando. And Johnny’s versatility is apparent in the vast array of his characters. They range from a quiet, lonely misfit to a sea-faring swashbuckler to a revengeful murderer.

This is slightly unexpected...
Maybe it's because I have nothing to do with the athletic departments at my college (their buildings are waaay on the other side of campus from my area...) and I'll admit that I don't watch everytime my college team is on TV because football annoys me and I don't really care for basketball.... so maybe there were signs I just didn't see them...

Bobby Knight has just retired from Texas Tech, effective immediately....

That sucks....

Normally, I could care less, but still... it's Bob Knight...
