He side-stepped to avoid being hit by a woman talking on the phone, carrying several bags and with a small child tagging alongside her. He looked up at the display board. Keeping the crowd in his field of vision to avoid more potential collisions, he scanned over the long list of flights, paying particular attention to those arriving from Los Angeles.

A/N: Ever listen to a song and suddenly get an idea for a fic? And then listen to another song that cements the idea even further into your subconscious? Yeah…that’s what happened here. Two songs by the same artist that had the same theme: Darren Hayes’ “Let’s Go” and “I Like the Way.” “I Like the Way,” coincidentally, is also where the title comes from, specifically the live version from his Time Machine Tour...an absolutely gorgeous acoustic version...

Song lyrics will be used at beginning of chapters, but this is NOT a song!fic...they're only being used to illustrate meaning and allude to certain thing. :)  Songs will primarily come from Darren Hayes' album, "The Tension and the Spark" as well as his recent album "Secret Codes and Battleships," but will also include some b-sides as well as songs from his other solo albums.  Also being used are a few songs, officially released or b-sides, from Savage Garden's albums...

Kurt needed a second opinion. It wasn’t that he didn’t feel confident in his ability to put together the perfect outfit, tailored to fit the situation at hand and be comfortable enough to be worn throughout the night—and one thing Kurt loved almost as much as he loved the stage was fashion—but he had never been in the position that the outfit he would put together could very well be seen by millions on national television. He needed it to be…well, perfect.

He tried to ignore it, but to no avail, and eventually found himself staring at the wall, trying not to let his mind wander to various scenarios of how tonight could go so very wrong.
