I'm just curious....

I'm planning out this fic.... for a fandom I swore I would never write for but have suddenly been swept up in (damn you, Klaine, for being so damn adorable!).  I took a prompt someone pimped on an angst meme.  It involves one of the male characters breaking into the fashion model industry.  I have to admit, I know absolutely nothing about the fashion industry. I've done some research but I still believe that I could do more.  I loved the prompt but may have bitten off more than I can chew...

So...does anyone on my f-list follow the modelling industry?  I'd rather not have to watch America's Next Top Model for all the juicy details... although my story will center around a male character not a female one....

Glee

Season 2 Episode 16

“Original Songs”  “Klaine Songs”

Okay, so this is about a week late.  What can I say?  I needed to process what the hell just happened in this episode because, wow, that was HUGE and I didn’t really expect what happened to actually…you know…happen.

This was the huge competition episode, for Regionals, and New Directions, The Warblers and Aural Intensity all want a spot to the National Competition in New York.

As per usual, this competition episode is overflowing with information, some of which may be never again be referenced to and others are huge game changing plots that will change the course of the show.

For the general storylines I really don’t care that much about?  (i.e. the non-Kurt, non-Blaine stories)  Rachel gets her wish and New Directions are doing original songs for the competition and Quinn is still hung up on becoming Prom Queen that she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get Finn back so she can win, even if it means ‘getting close’ to Rachel.  Even though it hasn’t gone on for that long, I’m already getting tired of the whole Rachel-Finn-Quinn triangle.  I don’t understand why every girl seems to be hung up on Finn.  I mean, I like him and all when he’s not being a jerk, but I just don’t think he’s that great of a catch.  Rachel needs to get over it and Quinn is a bitch.

Several of the kids end up writing songs…some better than others.  Santana (with Tina) sing a jazzy inspired song dedicated to Sam’s lips called ‘Trouty Mouth’ (it’s hilarious).  Sam, however, isn’t too taken with it.  Puck wrote a song to Lauren as he is still trying to woo her….he needs help with the wooing ‘cause it’s not working.  And Mercedes cranks out an awesome song called ‘Hell to the No.’  None of these songs are regional-worthy so Shuester tries his damndest to get the kids to tap into their emotional pain.  And there we have it.  Their two songs… One, a High School Musical-esque peppy number called ‘Loser Like Me’ and Rachel’s ballad, ‘Get It Right.’  Neither of the songs are particularly bad – the lyrics sound like they were written by teenagers so that’s a plus I guess – …but I just don’t see how they could win at the regional level. But, meh, this is Glee.

Now…onto the important stuff… Kurt and Blaine.

In which I will finally explain *why* I ship these two...Collapse )

META….okay let’s be honest, the Klaine Meta
Glee s02 ep 15 – Sexy

There was character development! OMG…Character Development! It was seriously there. After the last two episodes being primarily filler with storylines that really went nowhere, this was a wonderful, wonderful thing. Although it should happen in every episode. But since neither of those were written by Brad Falchuk, it was understandable because he is the best writer of the three, though the other two have had good episodes as well, just not on as consistent a basis as Brad. Plus Brad had to undo everything Ian did in ‘Blame It On the Alcohol’

Yeah, yeah, tonight was Gwyneth Paltrow’s return but I could care less about that, because honestly, anything to do with Shuester’s love life…bores me XD

Let’s see, tonight we had:

Santana development
Blaine development
Kurt development
Klaine development
Brittana development
…oh and some Emma-Carl development coupled with Will and Holly Holiday stuff but we only care about the kids, right? XD

But for the sake of my LJ, I’m only focusing on the Blaine and Kurt stuff :)

The episode was about sex. The Glee kids are apparently unknowledgeable about the facts of life and need some information drilled into their heads. I know, I know these characters are supposed to be teenagers, but sometimes, I have a really hard time believing that they don’t know how sex works or how they can get STDs or get pregnant (I’m looking at you Brittany). But anyways, let’s get started :D

We learn that Regionals is in a week and they have yet to decide on their set list. Surprise, surprise. Wouldn’t want to make it easy on ourselves, would we, Shuester? Better to get things done last minute. Okay, I realize for TV’s sake, they can’t rehearse the same songs over and over and over since it would get pretty boring but yeah… XD

For the New Directions kids, Shuester and Holly educate these kids about sex because they are clearly clueless about sex. Cue the inappropriate impromptu performances XD

The Warblers need to get 'sexified'Collapse )

Title: Kurt | Blackbird
Fandom: Glee
Characters/Ship: Basically a character study on Kurt, with Kurt/Blaine and Burt/Kurt father/son moments sprinkled in :)
Spoilers: up to s02 ep 12 "Silly Love Songs."  And apparently the song may be considered a spoiler for s02 ep 16, though it's unverified.  I didn’t know this when I started this vid, I swear!  Confirmed this song was in episode 16, Original Song, though not this exact arrangement. They used the original arrangement.
Song: Blackbird
Written by: Paul McCartney
Performed by: Evan Rachel Wood
Disclaimer: Glee © Fox Productions
Program Used: Sony Vegas Pro 9

Description: I originally chose this song because I thought this arrangement was pretty and I felt that the lyrics called out to Kurt.  Then I read a little on the history of the song; how Paul McCartney wrote it in 1968 in response to the civil rights movement occurring in the US at the time.  A year later after the song was written, the renewed vigor of Gay Liberation movement began with the Stonewall Riots.  For me,  just as this song fit the Civil Rights Movement, it can speak to the Gay Rights battle as well, which can connect it to Glee and Kurt.  Though Kurt's story was more of a personal journey rather than a larger social one, the song can tie into the aggressive bullying Kurt endured that forced him out of McKinley High and into Dalton Academy; he needed to leave McKinley High to emotionally recover from the situation he endured and his time at Dalton provided a safe haven for him, but once he does recover, he will be able to return, stronger than before.

And since the show also beat us over the head with the canary metaphor, meaning that Kurt is the bird in the gilded cage waiting for his time to break free once more.  I included some of the metaphor in the video but not the entire thing; as Blaine says of the canary, he's molting, growing a new coat of feathers so his body has to shut down for a while but don't worry about it; he's got food, water, seems to like his cage, but he will be singing again soon.  Just as Kurt is the canary in the metaphor, Kurt is the Blackbird of the song.

….When I chose this song, I didn’t realize that this song really was going to appear in the show and be sung by Kurt of all people (assuming the spoilers are true).  It just makes the song fit Kurt much more than I originally thought :)  Guess I have a telepathic link to the writers ;)

Singing in the dead of night

Take these broken wings and learn to fly

All your life

You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Title: Kurt & Blaine | Gravity
Fandom: Glee
Ship: Kurt/Blaine
Spoilers: up to s02 ep 12 "Silly Love Songs"
Song: Gravity
Artist: Vienna Teng
Disclaimer: Glee © Fox Productions
Program Used: Sony Vegas Pro 9

Description: My first video in almost a year, so I'm a little rusty.  I'm not overly fond of the beginning as I felt completely out of practice when making this but I figured I might as well try. :) I also experimented with a bit of overlaying, something I've never done before either...I'm not entirely sure of the end results but here it is :)

Why this song? I read an interview with Darren Criss in which he mentioned that Blaine gravitates toward Kurt whether he realizes it or not because of Kurt's inner strength.  But since Blaine is still new to Glee, there's not a lot of footage to work with so I decided to focus on Kurt rather than Blaine, although if Blaine is going to stick around (seems highly likely), I may redo this with Blaine as the center...maybe XD  Though Darren Criss' original interview was referring to Blaine and not Kurt, I thought that was an apt description of Kurt and Blaine's relationship, as they do seem to gravitate toward one another for one reason or another.  And honestly, when I reread the lyrics while I was working on this, I realized that the song fit them more than I originally thought.

....on a side note, I never really realized how much the Glee writers make Chris Colfer cry until I worked on this... D:  Seriously, they love to make him cry :(

Hey, love
I am a constant satellite
Of your blazing sun
My love
I obey your law of gravity

OMG I AM SO PISSED OFF!!!! So far 2011 is turning out to be a very bad year... UGH!!!  TWO computer problems in the same day!!!

I must offer a huge thanks to danceonstardust for letting me know via twitter that something funky was happening on my facebook.

At some point last night, a keylogger found it's way onto my computer unbeknownst to me.  I signed into my email...and well...that would be the last time that would ever happen.  My email password has been compromised and apparently, they used my email to contact my facebook friends along with my email address contacts.

Apparently, I have been mugged at gun point in the UK and am now currently begging money off people on my facebook friendlist and email contacts.

I wish I had enough money to visit the UK.  And if I was there, I would have probably made an excited post on LJ and facebook and everywhere else.  But alas...  The big tip off was them emailing my sister TWICE and I was standing right in front of her...  she emailed them back and  told them 'nice try' XD

I think I've got the keylogger off my desktop.  At least I hope I have...  Let's just say, I won't be logging into anything with the keyboard anymore.  I'll just use the on-screen keyboard since keyloggers can't track mouse clicks.

But to make matters worse, I cannot access my email anymore.  The asshole who hacked me went in and changed my email security questions and I have no idea how to get control of my account back.  If anyone knows how to contact Yahoo, please let me know...

So..If I have friended you on facebook or if I have your email address and you get an email from me (my name is apparently signed "Jessyca" which is my alternate spelling), ignore it.  It is not me.  I am not in the UK and I have not been mugged at gun point.  I'm still in Texas.

And then, naturally, on top of all of this...my laptop has died.  I was able to turn it on, I managed to get into some sites to change my log in information and whatnot, but then the computer froze.  Like completely froze.  I forced it to restart and well...it got stuck in a loop.  Apparently my Master File Table is corrupt....the thing that controls every single file. Yay....  So I'm pissed about that as well...We're going to see if we can get it fixed, but I bet it will be difficult...  /CRY

2011 sucks so far.

Hey, everyone!  Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas and a good New Year.

Can't believe it's 2011 already...I hope it works out significantly better than my 2010...or my 2009...... :-\  I'm not really one for Resolutions...But.. I hope someone somewhere will deem me suitable enough to hire because I need a job like last year.  I hope we can get a new heater in this damn house.  It is freezing in here.  I can barely type it's so cold. Our heater (and our air conditioning) has finally died and we can't afford a new one so we have to somehow get the money...

Oh, wait... I have a New Year's Resolution

I will write a screenplay.  I don't care if it's for a short, like ten minutes long.  I don't care if it's a feature length script...and I don't care if it's 'fanfic'.  I just want to be able to prove to myself that I can actually write a screenplay from start to finish. :)

....and well...onto the main crux of this post.  This is something that took me far too long to write up, but *shrug*  I wanted to make this list. :)

These are the actors/actresses that I really like for one reason or another...they are the ones whose work I follow closely or will most likely follow and whose work I will try to see at least once. Or they are the ones who I may have unconsciously followed from one project to another. Some of these actors may not be what you would consider the 'bestest best actors' in the world but there was definitely something about them that drew me in. Some (ie most) of them have been in the business for quite some time while others are just getting started. Some of them have had critical acclaim and prestigious acting awards and/or nominations while others are woefully under appreciated.

All in all, it's probably quite an eclectic group of actors/actresses here. :)  And to be honest, there really is no specific order...not really.  :)

Oh, and to make this an even count, I've added a couple of behind the scene people whose work I have admired and loved for a long time. :)

I was bored.  And despite not having much sleep the night before, I am not sleepy yet.  So, I rewatched the last episode of Glee on hulu.com and wrote some comments down...  this is just a bunch of random comments, some theories and what not.

Kind of majorly spoilery if you haven't seen the sectional episode yet...

Seriously, I want to know, how many on my friends list watch Glee?  I'm curious...

Just give it a little while. He'll be singing again in no time.Collapse )
